Yeah but then I forget about them :(

Commenting to come back and check, for I too would like to learn
Very helpful, thanks!
Am also very new and debating between Plasma and Cinnamon. KDE is generally more versatile, right? Idk.
Took my first steps last night, I flashed a USB stick with Mint Cinnamon and gave it a spin. Looks like it’ll handle everything I need to just fine, so imma start partitioning and backing up the next couple evenings and just go for it. I’ve installed Linux before, but only really as temporary solutions. I’m looking forward to making it my daily driver and learning the system.
Does every household in New Guinea speak a different language or wtf is going on there
Yeah tbh I’ve never really seen anyone successfully quit through vaping. Nicotine pouches or lozenges are much more effective imo.
I’m sure there are plenty of exceptions, but like you said, the vast majority of people vaping are just maintaining.
But I’ve watched The Good Place like at least 5 times, that’s gotta be worth a 101 credit
Hands down best use of template yet
Honestly, not really. I’m just kind of at a point in my life where it’s something I’m thinking about looking into, and an out-of-the-box option like this would be really handy.
I’d probably buy it.
Yeah, but my hardware knowledge is real basic. Closest I get to stuff like that would be PLCs, but I’m not really an industrial guy.
Maybe as a hobby though
That’s so damn cool. Honestly, stuff like this makes me want to learn some engineering. I’m an electrician so going back to school isn’t really a priority, but down the line…
Don’t we have like thousands of stories about how no, you shouldn’t do that?
I am WAY ootl on shopping for PCs and hardware, all the sites I used last time i did anything (god, around like 2008?) are quite defunct. Anywhere you’d recommend looking for a desktop like you’re talking about? I’d love to get my home on a selfhosted network.
I mean yeah, but specifically I’d like something built for Linux that’s good for just basic spreadsheet stuff. I’m an electrician so I mostly just need to track jobs and accounts.
I’m looking forward to it!
Side note: anyone got recommendations for business software? I’ve started browsing the FOSS community here for ideas but I’m not sure what QuickBooks alternatives exist
I’m thinking about a Linux laptop with FOSS software for my business actually, Lemmy’s relentless horde of pro-Linux propaganda has won me over
(OK I’ve always liked FOSS I’ve just never taken the jump)
It makes me happy that I actually understand this stuff now lol
