I use the Bluefin flavor of Silverblue. I like not having to tinker with my laptop to keep it working, everything happens in the background.
Un Dorian Gray sin pasado, ni patria ni bandera.
I’m just a guy in the #pnw who likes going on adventures, and playing games with friends.
Three things I love: the Oxford Comma, irony, and missed opportunities.

There are Misskey forks, though not without some hiccups. I’m currently using Sharkey because I like the UI better and the emoji reactions. Calckey turned Firefish was big for a while, and the suddenly died when the sole Dev went MIA.
I haven’t really had any problems with it. We’ve been using it regularly for text, but mostly for voice chat during games. It’s a lot to set up, but I’m using someone’s ansible setup so I just run a few commands and it does its thing and updates in the background.
That’s what I ended up doing for my group that wanted off Discord for privacy reasons. Mobile works fine and I’m also using Schildichat, though I think most of my group is using Element.
Didn’t T-Mobile buy Mint this year?
Welcome to the nonsense that is corporations.
Additionally, with the Pixel 9 holding down the power button no longer turns it off, you have to press power and volume up at the same time to get to the power menu.
Ugh, of course there is.
Popular take, but I also thought it was dead. I was on Firefish and noticed it was seriously degraded in day to day use. I started with Mastodon, but the *isskey platforms just have a better ux/ui (IMO) and I really didn’t want to go back to Mastodon. So now I’m on Sharkey, and hoping this one sticks around!
Design choice by the creators.
What age is a good age to give them one?
Oh! I read that as Social Justice Warriors and was somewhat confused. I’m glad you said something.
I have global entry, so they already have my biometric data. I’d love to not here scanned, but this point it wouldn’t be anything they didn’t already have.
Aw, Mandrake. That was my first.
No, slaps on the wrist are only for rich people. If you inconvenience rich people, that’s unforgivable.
I would love to, but it seems they only work in very specific phones. And even then with questionable functionality. It kinda feels like trying to use Linux as a daily driver twenty years ago.
If bazzite works for you, then good enough! Bazzite just comes with a lot more support for periphials that some might not need/want (e.g. vr headsets). So yeah, leaner. Or for that one poster, a neofetch icon that’s not a gamepad?
If you like the idea of Bazzite, but aren’t a gamer, you could go with Bluefin or Aurora depending on your preference.
I used to be in the “I prefer Linux but don’t have the time and energy to fight it when it doesn’t work” camp and would distro hop and occasionally go back to windows since the early aughts. I’ve been with Bluefin for a while now and it just works and I love the set it and forget it aspect. Also installed Bazzite on my Steam Deck.
