Definitely not the cops lol. If I called the cops when I lived in the US they’d open fire. If I called them where I live in Mexico I’d have to bribe them.

Despite what Americans think many parts of Mexico are safe and no one locks their homes where I live so if I were to get robbed, of which I have absolutely no fear of, I’d take the camera footage and call my insurance company, same if I got in an auto accident. Having to call the police is not a thing outside of a police state.

I’m american living in tijuana for the last 10 years and literally everyone locks their doors in tijuana. Not only do they lock their doors, but any windows on the ground floor have bars on them, any walls around a property are topped with glass or pointy metal, and any driveways/car ports are gated and locked.

Where in mexico do people not lock their houses? Asking for a friend.

      • You do know that the border is the worst part of the country aside from like where American gangs operate in Sinaloa right? And that most people by far live in the center of the country. To be fair you are right, like anywhere it is block by block and I was overstating it only because of the sheer propaganda I am exposed to about Mexico when I go back to the US, I edited my comment.
