IKEA is an acronym: Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd - the name of the founder Ingvar Kamprad, the village of Elmtaryd (now spelled Älmtaryd) located in the parish of Agunnaryd. Älmtaryd/Agunnaryd are located in Småland.
Småland is also where the first IKEA was founded.
