Found the Apple marketing person.
Kinda like the fucking TV screens they have on gas pumps for the sole fucking purpose of shoving ads down the throat of captive audiences.
Yes but image copyright is fickle thing, because at what point does it become not a copyrighted image? I have to reference the “Ship of Theseus” thought experiment, because it does sort of apply here. A fictional character cannot be drawn from a first hand perspective, so some sort of copyrighted image HAS to be used as a reference. So where does one draw the line?
I have a question for the author of this stupid fucking article. What the fuck do you think half of the artists on the planet do? They use copyrighted images as reference when drawing fictional characters and they often end up looking very similar to the original. There are thousands of people on social media that sell these drawings on a regular basis.
IIRC, they have UV sterilizers for central HVAC systems. So while it may not sterilize surfaces, it will kill all airborne pathogens.
profit =/= revenue

Google would have to burn the browser market to the ground before I’ll consider subscribing again.
They’re sure as fuck trying.
Yup, and the system has a limited number of face combinations when generating NPCs, which is why doppelgangers exist
If you read the article its the entire phone that gets hot, not just the “insides”. While a slight increase in temp under heavy load is normal, becoming too hot to even pick up is not.
I mean come on, this is a design flaw without question, you can easily get burned by a 115°F metal case.
I’m of the same mindset. A doctor equipped with all the latest technology will be able to offer a far more accurate diagnosis and custom treatment plan, rather than the traditional “make an educated guess and throw shit at it till something works” approach.
I know this is all just Elon’s ineptitude on full display, but there is still part of me that thinks he was paid by certain governments to tank the platform.
Those assholes should have never pushed the shit in the first place. Giving people the freedom to work from home and still live their life at the same time, then trying to snatch it away and force a return to the office, is clearly going to cause some serious push back. But these fucks were more worried about justifying their expensive office leases, than actually listening to and respecting their employees. A lot of those shit companies got what they deserved, empty offices, weakened workforce, and less overall productivity. Good job assholes.

Very good points. I have very limited knowledge about the inner workings of most LLMs, I just know the tidbits I’ve read here and there.
As far as quantum computers, based on my current understanding is once they’re at a point where they can be used commercially, they should easily be able to model/run artificial neural networks. Based on the stuff I’ve seen from Dr. Michio Kaku, quantum computers will eventually have the capacity to do pretty much anything.
I don’t think thats the case. If I understand correctly, the current issue is processing power, they can only load so much data before response time goes to absolute shit. I would think that layering different AI logic checks to verify statements made, recall previous conversations, and other mental processes that humans do automatically, would correct this issue. But with current technology its not even an option. My theory is that once quantum computers are actually finally realized and economically feasible, developers will be able to overcome the response time hurdle and all of the layered logic checks will be able to run simultaneously and instantly. My personal opinion is that I think the eventual layering of numerous AI models to overlap, check, and recheck one another, will be what brings on the emergence of what could be considered actual AI consciousness.
Who in the fuck do they think they’re fooling? There hasn’t been any sort of large corporate antitrust breakup since Bell Systems in the early 80s. They expect us to believe that after 40 years of inaction, suddenly they’re going to do their jobs again? This is nothing but pandering to pad approval ratings. I would love to be wrong, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
This was exactly my thought. Every student with access to a smartphone has almost the entirety of human knowledge in their pocket. Yet our education system is still using printed books and standardized tests written by for profit corporations. US students spend more time taking standardized tests than they do actually learning subjects and engaging with their teachers.
Our entire education system, like many current systems in place in our society, are antiquated and in dire need to be reimagined/redesigned for the 21st century. Trying to make school more about babysitting and less about education is not the way to go.
Any company that obfuscates all their security practices, refuses to give statistics on security risks and counter measures, and boils their product security down to “Trust us, bro.”, doesn’t actually give a fuck about your security. They’re just the last company who is still able to keeps everything secret so they can make shit up as they go along. Apple’s security is a joke and they’re just as bad as any other manufacturer on the market, the only difference is they have successfully kept their shit secret for all these years and spent decades convincing people they actually give a fuck about security.
I still remember a few years ago having a conversation with a coworker about her iphone and she bragged about Apple never being hacked and this was right after I had just got done reading an article about a large scale hack on their network. Of course Apple never said a damned thing about it, so I forwarded her the article. IIRC she mumbled something about how the article was probably not accurate. Apple fanatics do some crazy mental gymnastics to justify them spending thousands on a phone thats probably worth about $300 at best(their hardware is on average 1-2 generations behind other devices on the market).
Did you know that most celebrity phone hacks are thru apple accounts?
In other words, the in depth reporting and niche shows aren’t making enough money, so we’re going to dump all that shit and jump on the reality TV bandwagon.
