I saw an interview with Jack Ma (I think) where he said his job isn’t to be the smartest at the job. His job is to find the smart people and make sure they work together. I think that may be what’s happening here. Leadership is incapable of holding the engineers accountable and making sure they follow all safety protocols. Whether that is incompetence or malice I’m sure we’ll never know for sure.
That’s the problem. You have to buy a brand new phone because your phone is locked. With this law if you bought your phone outright you could switch carriers within 2 months if you found a better deal and still keep your phone. Can’t currently do that in the US.
And the whole locking cost is made up. It’s simple to make a phone “unlocked”. The cost in inflated on purpose to create a need so they can offer locked at a discount.
Poverty is wealth
“T-Mobile claims that with a 60-day unlocking rule, “consumers risk losing access to the benefits of free or heavily subsidized handsets because the proposal would force providers to reduce the line-up of their most compelling handset offers.”
I’m I stupid or are they threatening to arbitrarily raise prices for no reason other than spite?
Also wtf is a “handset”?
This is exactly my take. I don’t understand humanity’s need to blame everyone and everything else for their own problems. Stop blaming tiktok for your dopamine addiction. Get help.
This reads like Facebook propaganda. If they are paying people who gives a fuck.
Yes. They are chasing corporate profits during covid. It’s a recipe for disaster on the already worker shortage they are facing. If i could afford a long term put on Amazon if take it. They are a bubble waiting to burst.
It’s ugly and the fold is noticeable which is distracting when watching videos. Not to mention Huawei is banned in the US
No because it’s ugly. The fold is noticeable in the Samsung version as well. Very easy to tell the screen isn’t glass and that is bothersome when watching videos.
Apple is leaning into the criticism that all they do is copy Samsung tech. Nobody wants a folding iPhone.
More and more I am tempted to buy one of those 36,000 lumen flashlights and shine it at people who refuse to remove their high beams. You can tell when it’s just a tall truck and some asshole with high beams.
It sounds like you are implying you have entered a wide range of fields and can speak for multiple industries about typing.
To me it seems like you have done many entry level positions which yes, most require a lot of typing. I know it’s hard to imagine but there are a lot of blue collar jobs that use computers but don’t care if you type fast. Did you know the mechanic that changes your oil uses a computer?
I don’t know your age or your skill at typing but I can tell you look down on people who type with 2 fingers.
I have never learned to type correctly and have been using 2 fingers my whole life. Yes it’s slower than if I had learned but I have never felt slowed by it not have I ever been told my performance is lacking because of it. I don’t even really look at the keyboard anymore when I type because I memorized where the keys are. Much like you do on a phone I know where all the keys are and I type fast.
I know you can’t imagine it but hunt and peck would describe a person that had never seen a keyboard. That’s not how many people type.
Just because you can’t imagine it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. There are plenty of jobs that use computers but you don’t need to transcribe anything. In my job we use excel a ton. I only need to type a few sentences. The rest is copy paste and using formulas. I do just fine with 2 fingers.
Granted I type pretty fast even like that and don’t have to look at the keyboard much to type. Mostly just to reposition my hands from time to time. Much like you would on a phone.
You’re confusing the action of typing with the skill of typing.
typing isn’t as useful a skill as it use to be. Not many jobs need it.
Here’s the meat and potatoes of the article.
In 2023, they decided that the best way to deal with the problem was to secretly bolt a Starlink terminal to the “O-5 level weatherdeck” of a US warship.
They called the resulting Wi-Fi network “STINKY”—and when officers on the ship heard rumors and began asking questions, the leader of the scheme brazenly lied about it. Then, when exposed, she went so far as to make up fake Starlink usage reports suggesting that the system had only been accessed while in port, where cybersecurity and espionage concerns were lower.
Rather unsurprisingly, the story ends badly, with a full-on Navy investigation and court-martial.
Haven’t seen any JWST content in a while. Thank you
They remove the extra ports because they take up space in the board.
That aside if you’re buying Mac you took it from yourself. No one made you buy it.
