It’s been a wonderful X-Windows feature on UNIX systems for ages, which Linux inherited. Select and middle mouse button paste is so ingrained in me, I can’t function without it.

I did for a long time until it was pulled from Ubuntu and Mint’s respective installers. Loved it when I had it.

Not at all. No one said leet hacker crap. What are you on about? I said it’s configurable and customizable, which are praises. Locking any OS down with these MDM solutions robs the users of any enjoyable experience. You want someone’s first Linux experience to suck? To be a locked down piece of frustration? Let the OS’s that already force things on people do that. People expect that from Windows and Mac. Not from Linux.

Just don’t use Linux for this. Linux is meant to be customizable and configurable. If you want thoughtless drones working on cookie cutter setups, give them Windows or a Mac. Clipping Linux’s wings like like this should be a crime.

You’ll almost never get a forced apology out of an autistic person, anyway. The CoC has no consideration for the neurodivergent.

When other devs can force a CoC on the actual creator of Linux, that’s when you know they’ve gone to far. It’s his, wtf should anyone else get a say in how it’s governed?
