In my experience, the only quirk of arch is its installation. pacman
and the AUR are great and I really did not have any issues with stability. First time I tried arch I used a tiling window manager, custom menu bars and all that “hackerman” stuff, which was not stable at all and forced me to reconfigure and tweak my machine all day every day. Now I am using a full blown Gnome desktop environment and it is rock stable. My only wish is to have an /etc
directory just like Intel Clear Linux.
menstrual surveillance
Now that’s a phrase I would’ve never thought I would read.
I tried both. Static site generators are great for me, but when I have collaborators, they need a an admin dashboard or something with a graphical interface for editing the looks and/or content. Ghost is great but lacking features. Just saw Concrete5 in this thread, looks promising.
We had air gapped systems (we didn’t have internet) in the 90s and they still got viruses(from floppy disks). I don’t understand what is new?
only if firefox weren’t pushing everyone back.
I feel your pain. I am not a native english speaker but I see lots of comparable words come up in my language. I believe they are wrong but I know many “wrong” examples that were wrong a century ago but they are part of the daily language now.
if you are already competent and you are aware that it doesn’t necessarily give you correct information, the it is really helpful. I know enough to sense when it is making shit up. Also it is, for some scenarios, faster and easier then looking at a documentation. I like it personally. But it will not replace competent developers anytime soon.
Too late. it is a widely used term with a very specific meaning now. that’s language for you. not just modern language. all of language.
I was referring to summary execution of a thief being a good thing.
Fascism is so normalized :(
Really interesting. Probably country specific. Thanks for checking.
Don’t be scared. Embrace the data. Let it flow through the fiber optic cables and into your RAID array. Dew it!
Can you see a system app called “SIM Toolkit”?
Apparently the app is actually called Sim toolkit and it is built into the Android OS. I didn’t even give it permission to send notifications.
I did not buy from the carrier. It’s a OnePlus 9 Pro.
In all my phones so far, a carrier app like this is automatically installed after I boot the phone for the first time with a sim card. Going all the way back to my first android phone.
8 years or so for me. I miss Ableton and Sibelius. I have Bitwig and Musescore but I still miss them. Musescore is getting better and better (I am planning on moving to lilypond anyway) but Bitwig is too alien for me. It is almost the same bu not really. If it was completely different, it might have been easier to get used to. Also I wish there was a viable open source alternative to Bitwig.
There is a carrier app on my phone that cannot be uninstalled without root. I guess all phones have that, even if you don’t have a contract, which I don’t. I disabled roaming, went to another country, and it started to randomly show pop-ups asking me to turn on roaming and activate the international plan. There is an ok and cancel button, and it can pop up right under my fingers while I am typing something. That is pure evil.
It seems to work just fine on OnePlus 9 Pro but says “Warning unsupported device” when it starts.
