Imagine how many copycats if Luigi’s trial ends in jury nullification
Imagine how many copycats if Luigi’s trial ends in jury nullification
There must be hundreds of youths with 3d printed guns and bad opinions about the absolute worst companies
I run teams in Firefox and it’s fine. Audio and camera are stable for hours. You can use a private window to test if it’s your extensions
WebEx also has audio settings which teams doesn’t
ISP around me had policies like “we can provide Usenet except for the binaries trees”
That’s “parent” not “adult”
I with no kids at home have excellent sleep
Teens are the ones (after new mothers) who suffer the most, with natural sleep cycles starting around midnight or in the early morning and wake times in the late morning or early afternoon, but school schedules that force them to be active at school from 9am
My sister got told off regularly for reading after lights out
As adults my mother told me that after they found books for me I liked they pretended to never notice the light leaking through my doona, they were just happy to see I was reading
It’s not like the US manufacturers anything anymore, and Hollywood has forgotten how to make movies
It’s like you don’t even try to export your culture anymore, when I was a kid everyone watched Sesame Street, now all the kids in all the English speaking world are watching Bluey
I think in 2001 I was making a Linux from scratch system having not gotten enough from red hat and Debian with home configured and compiled kernels
Fun times and no, nothing like the commercial home operating systems back then
Most people think it’s best to upgrade 4 houses to a hotel
realistic
Has anyone personally known to you become randomly wealthy?
Keeping in mind Monopoly dollars are big enough to buy streets, utilities, houses and hotels
The system in question is capitalism. It’s been around longer than any of the named generations. It was tamed a little before the first world war (it enabled the first world war to be a world war). It needs to be more restricted
What you wrote was fine. Some people don’t like that sentence structure for stupid reasons
I wouldn’t, but only because I enjoy writing, even for email
“that’s a shame, you should have considered it when you last downsized the workforce. I’ll be back in a month”
I have a friend who’s a new PM (in scaled agile). He isn’t up on expectation management.
We have a process where we request data from another agency which takes “from 7 seconds to 12 days”
And of course he tells people that. And of course they hear “7 seconds”
I have told him that if the SLA is 12 days, say “less than 12 days”
I love the way they evict themselves
I’d do it differently.
I would fund a massive advertising campaign preaching equality, fairness, and cooperation
I would use the tax system to weaken the cycle of intergenerational wealth (the ultra wealthy spend borrowed money which is settled by their estate on death; I would tax bequests to banks; I would tax inheritances above a pretty high limit.
It would take time. The aim would be to have a much more level wealth distribution
Australia heavily advertised multiculturalism and anti-racism during the '70s and '80s and then stopped. It seemed effective. We had one not very racist generation.
What about legislating that insurance companies must be non-profits
If they can’t take a profit they need to spend their premiums. If the premiums are too high they need to be generous, if razor tight they need to be fair, too low they’d be sued out of existence
